Yesterday Steve Rauf, the owner of a popular "rave" venue on Othello St and Martin Luther King Jr Way, the Citadel, told the DPD (Department of Planning and Development) that he is canceling Kiss My Bass this weekend. In turn, the DPD informed Rauf that the venue is now limited to holding one major event per quarter. Unfortunately the cost of attaining permits for this type of law is too great to continue producing electronic music events at the Citadel.

This comes after the chief of the Seattle Police Department, John Diaz, sent a letter to Rauf that announced that the department considers the Citadel a chronic nuisance property. According to the letter, the city could abate the property, or fine Rauf up to $25,000 if he fails to respond.

Beardyman Photo Beardyman is FINALLY doing a US tour, and although Seattle isn't on the list of places to visit, according to Beardyman, "If my tour doesnt come to your town, start a facebook group to campaign to get me there and if there's enough demand i'll book a date in."

We would LOVE to see Beardyman come to the Northwest. Help by joining the Bring BEARDYMAN to SEATTLE group on Facebook!!

Now at this point, some people might be saying, "Who the hell is Beardyman?"

On September 25, 2009, Bellevue High School had a school dance. But this dance was a little different from the dances most high schools have. This dance, called appropriately DANCE!!, featured 3 hours of electronic music and Seattle's very own Hyperfunk, with lasers from Tyler and VJ Maneki Neko doing visuals. DANCE!! included more than 500 kids, one of the largest attendances ever at a Bellevue High School non-formal dance.

Dance All Night NW would like to congratulate Hyperfunk and Infectious Entertainment on their success with this event.

First let us say, welcome to Dance All Night Northwest! Dance All Night is finally ready for its launch into the world wide web. Dance All Night is based on the electronic music scene in the Northwest, which includes Washington, Oregon, and all the surrounding areas. The main goal of Dance All Night is to renew the the popularity of electronic music in the adult scene.

For starters, we strongly believe that most genres can exist in a club environment if there is a big enough crowd drawn to them. We commonly heard complaints that there aren't any good "techno" clubs with the kind of music you usually only hear at all ages events. Enter Dance All Night. By drawing attention to events for the older crowd, we hope to build a following for those events to improve the turnout and popularity of electronic music club nights or events, and while we do support all events of every kind, and will list events for all ages, our main goal is to draw focus to 18+/21+ events. We hope that by doing this there will be more events like these in the future, and by bringing them to the forefront on Dance All Night, people interested in these types of events will have the ability to find them easily, and raising their popularity will be that much easier.
