Do I have to register?

Registration is required if you'd like to comment on a thread. Registration is, and will always be, completely free, and you are not required to use your real name.

Can I use smilies?

Yes. In fact, certain textual smilies will be converted to a graphical representation automatically. If you don't know what text to use, simply click on the smiley you'd like to use. Remember to click "more..." if you'd like to see more smilies.

Can I use HTML?
No. Dance All Night does not currently support HTML in posts. For information on how to post links and enhance your text see the BBCode section below.

Using BBCode

The forum is equipped with a basic text editor that can change font to bold, italic, underlined, big, small, or colored. It can also insert pictures, links, lists, quoted text, code boxes, and a code eraser. The last icon is for other areas of the website, and isn't used in the forums.

When posting, there is also a link at the bottom that explains all the BBCode used on this site. PLEASE GO HERE for further help in getting the look you want. In the post below this one, Toyo has posted some examples of things that our version of BBCode currently supports.

What are moderators?

Moderators are the people who watch over the forums. They can move, edit, delete, or lock any threads in the forum. They are here to keep the forums a respectful, welcoming place.

Can I change my profile?

Yes. You may easily change any info stored in your registration profile by clicking the EDIT tab on your account page. This is also where you can add or change your signature. If you click "Profile" from the top of that page, you can edit your public profile information. NOTE: All of the info under "profile" is viewed publicly. If you do not wish for people to see it, DO NOT POST IT ON YOUR PROFILE.

Do you use cookies?

This site uses cookies to store only your login session. If you do not check the Remember Me box upon login, your cookies will be cleared as soon as you exit your browser. If you do choose the option of "Remember Me" then your login cookies may remain in your browser for up to 7 days from the last time you logged in. If you session expires, you will need to log in again.

Can I edit my own posts?

Yes. All original posts and comments can be edited by their author. Comments that are edited will display the date and time that it was edited at the top of the post.

Can I attach files?

No. Dance All Night does not currently allow users to attach files to their posts.

How do I search the forum?

Please use the search bar at the top of the page under the top navigation menu to start searches. You will have the option of using a forum specific search in the advanced search function after you've entered an original search term. However, advanced searches are only available to registered members.

Can I add a signature to the end of my posts?

Yes. Please see your account's edit page to add or edit your signature. Dance All Night currently allows Soundcloud players in signatures. If you are a DJ and you have uploaded your OWN MIX OR TRACK to Soundcloud, please feel free to use the Soundcloud tags in your signature. It should look something like this:
[soundcloud]artist/mix-title[/soundcloud]
"artist" should be your Soundcloud user name and "mix-title" is the name of your mix or track as it appears in the Soundcloud link. If you aren't sure, paste the entire link from the soundcloud page and then remove "http://www.soundcloud.com/"

Is there a username/password retrieval system?

Yes. If you have forgotten your password, simply click "Forgot Password" on the login box, and you password will be sent to you. You may need to reset it after this.

Can I post links to audio files like my latest DJ mix?

Yes. We have even provided a two special sections for you to do so. One is Promotions, where new mixes can be promoted and bumped without the hassle of people critiquing them. The other area is called Mixes, where you can post your mix, which may or may not receive feedback from other Dance All Night members. Please read the MIXES FORUM RULES before posting a mix in this section.
