I changed my picture in the profile settings but it keeps going back to the picture I originally had. How can I fix this?

This is a problem with some browsers not loading the new picture image. Force a refresh by hitting "Shift" while you click on the refresh button. Your new picture should show up after that, although you may need to do this on other pages as well.
