New York native, Switzerland based DJ/Producer Sean Tyas is something of a leading light in European trance. Currently ranked #46 in DJ Magazine"s Top 100 DJ Poll 2009, he was also earmarked by BBC Radio 1"s Pete Tong as a "buzzword in trance circles" head of his debut Essential Mix for the station back in February 2009 and hooked by industry power house Beatport has a "One to watch in 2009", leaving little surprise that 2009 went down as undoubtedly his biggest period to date.

Having cut out his niche in the highly competitive production arena to create countless hit tracks, remixes and bootlegs, Sean brings to the dancefloor a mix of melodic harmony, driving groove and cutting edge production techniques.
The distinctive Sean Tyas sound has captured the imagination of the trance community with the highest echelons of the trance elite such as Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, Judge Jules, Ferry Corsten, Sander van Doorn and Above & Beyond amongst the heavyweight playlist support. Sean also has legions of fans at grass roots level, from message boards, budding DJs and radio listeners, a fact proven by his meteoric rise up the ranks of popular polls such as the DJ Magazine Top 100 and TranceAddict.com, as well as being awarded 'Best New Face' winner at the recent Trance Awards as well as #3 Best Remixer and #5 Best Producer, with Mixmag also awarding him #8 in their 'Best New DJs' at the end of 2007.

Despite all this activity he has still found time to broadcast his own weekly radio show Tytanium sessions and for 2010 will be launching his own label imprint of the same name. 2010 will also see Sean work on his first artist album project, release a curve-ball techno track on Full Tilt records and undertake in remix work for artists such as Dash Berlin, on top of heavy tour throughout Asia, Australia and the Americas, all of which suggests that the world of Tyas looks exceedingly bright for 2010.

With great sadness I regret to announce Technikal will not be able to perform at Whiteout 8. This is a HUGE let down, as we know a lot of people were excited to see Techinkal make his US debut at Whiteout 8. Unfortunately, Alf was unable to get the P1 work visa he was applying for and was not comfortable coming without proper working papers. This was in no way Phase 3 Events fault; we booked Technikal in August and fully expected we would have enough time to get the paper work finished. We are working to get Alf's papers sorted and hope to have him out in 2011, possibly Kandyland 7 in February, but more likely Blackout 9 next May. Again we apologize to everyone who was looking forward to seeing Technikal. We tried everything but at this point its just not looking good.

In replacement of Technickal we are please to bring you…

He may be only in his late-twenties but already Andy Whitby has achieved a status, a command of respect, a massive following that comfortably trounces the biggest DJ names that have many more years of experience.

He’s a phenomenon that continues to grow momentum at an almost frightful pace. His sets are highly inspirational, massively addictive, hi-octane, powerful hands in the air affairs delivered in a unique style. Watching how Andy delivers ground breaking legendary sets time and again with seeming ease masks many hours spent in his studio practicing and perfecting his technique. By the time a track is included in his play list Andy will know how to get the very best out of it; he will know every tiny micro-beat, every minuscule detail. Such obsession makes him a member of the top-flight elite; consistently winning awards and fans the world over.

Whitby’s unquestionable and seemingly unrivaled DJing skill is only part of the success story. A Whitby set will always be peppered by many tracks that are either his own or are remixed and re-engineered by him to get optimum performance and maximum impact within each set he plays. Any track that has come out of the Whitby studio is hugely sought after by other DJs and fans, so much so some DJs who should know better lift huge segments from Andy’s demos to include in their own sets.

Such is the demand for these tracks has prompted the creation of AWsum, Whitby’s own record label; each release enjoying instant chart-topping success. And by running his own label he is in total control of the output; this means that each release does not suffer from the unnecessary meddling of label management. Such is the success he has expanded in recent months to 7 new sub-labels ensuring every aspect of harder-dance has his stamp on it.

youtube.com/watch?v=5DPyYmp0Pig Ilana's Nature One Anthem played by Armin Van Burren

Ilana’s recording career began in Dark Pop Studios in 2008 after her friend John Renfrow of the Seattle-based trip-hop group Keep the Secrets, invited her into the studio. One of her tracks with KTS, “I Need More”, was remixed by various artists, receiving mass support…and so began her fanbase on Myspace. In November 2008, Ilana worked and trained with Armada Music’s top singer/songwriter Jaren Cerf in Los Angeles. Shortly after, Ilana met Adam Tas from Wales, and the duo formed the electro groupGemini’s Edge, releasing their first single, “Strange Love” on Dissident Music (Miami, FL). “Strange Love” was featured on various radio shows, and premiered at the Miami Winter Music Conference in Spring 2009, properly launching Ilana’s career into dance music.

In January 2009, while studying abroad in London, Ilana interned for Global Radio UK and was featured on BBC1 for winning a singing competition. During this time, Ilana hooked up with top German DJ and trance producer Woody Van Eyden from TheMusic and Artist Agency, whom is responsible for launching some prominent careers, including ATB, Chriss Ortega, and Alex M.O.R.P.H. During her travels in Europe, she collaborated with top trance Swedish producer, Airbase. The duo have an album track set for release in late 2010 on Intuition Records (Netherlands).

In June 2010, Ilana recorded the vocals for the Nature One Festival anthem, the largest electro-fest in all of Europe! The song was featured in television commercials and was played by some of the world’s top DJs, including Armin Van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk, andATB. In the Winter and Summer of 2010, Ilana traveled to Sweden to work with producer Nicolas Stenberg-Daniil and the vocalist Jennifer Theander. She also traveled to Tel Aviv to work alongside Itay Steinberg and Roman Weinstein of Pakotec Productions, whose current client list spans from CSI Miami to Mortal Combat.

Ilana is a dynamic young woman. She has written for jazz, rock, house, trance, pop, country and many other genres! She has an honors degree—a Bachelors in Communications and Minor in Music Business from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. She has also studied under some of the most prominent in the music industry, including Professor John Hartman, whom managed acts such as The Eagles and Sunny and Cher.

Now that she is back on US soil, Ilana plans to create a band that pulls from all of her extensive jazz, rock, and electronic musical influences. She currently has countless songs in the works, including 4 pending releases in 2010. She is also working on licensing tracks for various film and tv commercials. Ilana also continues to work under the representation of The Music and Artist Agency. Her passion for dance music, as well as the lasting relationships she has built with her producers, has inspired her to continue to write for the dance music community. This will include an up-and-coming collaboration with one of the world’s top DJs! So look out for this little redhead. She’s sure to amaze you!
