Addicted: Official Dance All Night Review
Submitted by Ro on August 4, 2010 - 5:40pm
"Music is what brings us all together, it unites our souls. It is the universal language spoken in every country. This is our ADDICTION." These were the words on the front of the flyer for Addicted. These words would forever embody an event that would be remembered, for one reason or another.
Thrown by Nu Breed Entertainment, Addicted was held at The ORB (Old Rainier Brewer) aka Tully's, one of the most admirable venues in Seattle. Located in SoDo and topped by a massive T, the freeway adjacent building is a landmark of the city. Even those too young to remember the building as the Old Rainier Brewery know the Tully's building by the freeway. They know where to go the night of an event. They knew where to go the night of Addicted. That was evident.

The Kid Is Back
In mid 2003, a new face approached Seattle's hardcore scene. His name quickly became one of the most recognized in hardcore, synonymous with the cheesy synths and chipmunk vocals that made dancing irresistible. Kid KaBoom quickly became the favorite hardcore DJ of many party-goers as well as an inspiration to other hardcore DJs. For almost three years he traveled around the NW playing at any show willing to book a hardcore DJ. Those who were familiar with the scene during that time remember him as a staple of the electronic music scene and one of the biggest rising stars known to Seattle's EDM culture. Often appearing on flyers without confirmation, he would perform at those illegitimate bookings so that he could continue to spread the hardcore sound. Everyone wanted a piece of the Kid. No self-respecting party was complete without him.
